Last updated: July 22, 2026 Seller: Dual Subs ("we", "us", "our") Website: https://dualsub.dev Contact: infodualsubtitle@gmail.com
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dual Subs website at https://dualsub.dev and the Dual Subs Chrome browser extension (together, the "Service") provided by Dual Subs. By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who You Are Contracting With
The Service is operated by Dual Subs, based in Colombia. Wherever these Terms refer to "we", "us", or "Dual Subs", they refer to Dual Subs.
By using the Service you represent that either (a) you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and are entering into these Terms on your own behalf, or (b) if you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a business, you have authority to bind that business.
2. Acceptance and Changes
Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified inside the extension or on the website. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
3. The Service
Dual Subs is a Chrome extension that displays dual subtitles and an inline dictionary on supported streaming platforms (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+), plus a companion website for account, vocabulary, and subscription management. Features, supported platforms, and availability may change over time.
You may try the extension for a limited free period without an account. To keep using it after that, you must create an account (which includes a free trial). Continued use after the trial requires a paid subscription plan.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial language-learning purposes, subject to these Terms.
4. Accounts
If you create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at infodualsubtitle@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Acceptable Use
You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
- Send spam, harass others, or upload malicious content through any Service feature (e.g. feedback, contact, or waitlist forms).
- Attempt to interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service (e.g. malware, probing, scanning, unauthorized access, denial-of-service attempts).
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the extension except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Scrape, harvest, or redistribute the Service or its content in bulk, resell the Service, or circumvent any technical limits (including trial limits, plan limits, or per-user features).
- Infringe our or any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Use the Service to violate the terms of a streaming platform (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+); your use of those platforms remains subject to their own terms.
6. Intellectual Property
We (Dual Subs) retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including the extension software, website, code, designs, logos, and content we create ("IP"). No IP rights are transferred to you under these Terms other than the limited use license in Section 3.
Dictionary content, subtitle content, and third-party trademarks visible through the Service belong to their respective owners.
Content you submit to us (for example, feedback, contact-form messages, or bug reports) — you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and adapt that content solely to operate, improve, and support the Service.
7. Paid Plans, Payments and Merchant of Record
Dual Subs offers optional paid subscription plans (e.g. monthly, annual). The current plans, prices, and billing terms are shown on the pricing page at https://dualsub.dev/pricing.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries related to payments and handles returns.
By purchasing a subscription you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms), which govern payment, billing, tax, and refund mechanics. In particular:
- Billing cycle and renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price until you cancel.
- Taxes. Prices displayed at checkout may exclude applicable taxes; Paddle collects and remits the correct taxes based on your billing location.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through the account/subscription section of the Service or via Paddle's customer portal (paddle.net). Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds. Our refund terms are set out in our Refund Policy.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle may retry the payment and, after several attempts, the subscription may be cancelled and access downgraded to the free tier.
8. Free Trial
New accounts may receive a free trial of paid features (currently 15 days). At the end of the trial, if you have not subscribed, your account is downgraded to the free tier. No card is charged unless you explicitly subscribe.
9. AI Subtitles and Third-Party Services
The optional AI Subtitles feature sends subtitle text from the current episode to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API for translation. Machine-translated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for professional, legal, or safety-critical uses. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any output before relying on it.
The Service integrates with third-party dictionary and translation services (Jisho, Wiktionary, KRDICT, MyMemory, Apertium, Google Gemini, etc.) as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those third-party services is subject to their own terms.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if:
- You materially breach these Terms, including the acceptable-use rules in Section 5.
- Your payments fail or a chargeback is issued against a purchase.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a security risk arising from your account.
- We are required to do so by law.
You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and associated cloud data, contact us at infodualsubtitle@gmail.com. On termination, sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.
11. Warranty Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will work with any specific streaming title, browser version, or platform update.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us (via Paddle) for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity, even if advised of the possibility.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claims, damages, and expenses arising out of (a) your content submitted to the Service, (b) your unlawful use of the Service, or (c) your breach of these Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Bogotá, Colombia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that where you are a consumer under mandatory local law, you retain the protections and forum rights those laws grant you.
15. Miscellaneous
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g. outages of third-party services, internet disruptions, government actions).
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
